Moving Music Concerts

Moving Music Storytelling Evaluation

Moving Music aims to improve health and wellbeing through access to music for people
living with dementia and their carers. This project is focused on finding ways to more
effectively measure and communicate the impact and value of the Moving Music concerts,
in order to sustain and develop them, expand their reach, learn and secure funding.

Storytelling is one of a variety of methods being used and enables us to hear directly from
those closest to the work.

We are interested in understanding what matters most to the storytellers, and also wish to
test the following assumptions:

• Coming together to share the music in a safe accessible place is what helps and
   has value
• The concerts are enjoyable and beneficial to everyone
• Everyone enjoys singing along, and that the format of the concert as it is now is
   appropriate

For this project, Moving Music organised the collection of 16 stories and then transcribed
and edited them. Storytellers included audience members, volunteers, trustees and
musicians. OFS has supported the process and will be facilitating the discussion session.
